Es fühlt sich nicht immer ganz so an als ob Gott wirklich einen Plan hat. Eher so, als ob überall auf der Welt lauter zusammenhangslose Dinge einfach passieren. Aber bekanntlich sind Gefühle nur bedingt verlässlich: Gott hat in der Tat einen Plan, ein Ziel auf das er hinarbeitet. Und das ist - Trommelwirbel - dass seine Herrlichkeit die ganze Welt erfüllt. Hört sich eher simpel an, oder? Selbst der letzte Mensch in der hintersten Ecke der Erde soll Gottes Herrlichkeit sehen und kennen (4. Mos. 14:21, Hab. 2:14, Ps. 72:19, Jes. 6:3). Gottes Herrlichkeit ist ihm ziemlich wichtig, um ehrlich zu sein. Was soviel bedeutet wie: er wird alles tun, um seinen Plan zu verwirklichen. Er tut nichts aus Langeweile oder aus Versehen - sondern mit dem Ziel, dass er verherrlicht wird. Dass wir seine Herrlichkeit sehen (Joh. 17:24) und ihn deswegen verherrlichen (Off. 15:4).
Also wie genau füllt Gott nun die Erde mit seiner Herrlichkeit? Ganz einfach! Er hat sich da dieses Ding ausgedacht, das nennt sich Lobpreis und Gebet. Und das funktioniert ziemlich gut! Lass mich das an einem kleinen Beispiel erklären: Letztes Jahr hat mich eine Freundin in das beste Sushi Restaurant der Welt eingeladen. Seitdem ich dort war, esse ich nirgendswo anders mehr Sushi weil im Vergleich einfach nichts mehr gut schmeckt. Und ich kann es mir nicht verkneifen, immer wenn die Rede auf Sushi kommt, von diesem Restaurant zu erzählen. Ich fand es hammer und mein Verhalten zeigt das.
Und genau das Gleiche tut auch Lobpreis. Wir finden Gott hammer und unser Verhalten, unser Lobpreis, zeigt das. Ganz einfach durch unser Verhalten, unsere natürliche Reaktion auf Gott, erzählen wir anderen von Gott und seiner Herrlichkeit. Wir verherrlichen Gott durch unseren Lobpreis - und durch unser Verherrlichen verbreitet er seine Herrlichkeit. Ziemlich gewieft. Und ziemlich simpel.

Sometimes, it doesn’t feel like God really has a plan. It feels more like all kinds of random things are happening all over the world. But we all know that feelings aren’t necessarily reliable, don’t we? God does have a plan, something he is working towards. And it is - drumroll - that the glory of God will fill the whole earth. Somewhat simple, right? Every last person in the last corner of the earth shall know and see the glory of God (Num. 14:21, Hab. 2:14, Ps. 72:19, Isa. 6:3). God’s glory is really important to him. That means that all he is doing is towards this goal. There is nothing random that he does out of boredom or by accident. Everything is so that God would be glorified: that we would see his glory (Jh. 17:24) and glorify him because of it (Rev. 15:4).
So how exactly does God fill the whole earth with his glory? Glad you asked! He has invented this little thing called worship and prayer and that seems to be doing the trick! Let me explain it with this example: last year, a friend of mine invited me to the best sushi restaurant on the planet. Since I have been there, I don’t eat sushi anywhere else anymore because nothing compares to it. And I persistently keep telling others about that place whenever we talk about sushi. I think it’s awesome and my response shows that! Worship basically does the same. We think God is awesome and our response, our worshipping him, shows that. This way we actually make him and his awesomeness known to others. We glorify God by worshipping him - and by us glorifying him, God spreads the knowledge of his glory all over the earth.
